Sequoia Union High School District, Las Lomitas Elementary School District, Menlo Park City School District and Redwood City School District operate the public schools within Atherton. 

There are 4 Atherton elementary schools Encinal, Las Lomitas, Laurel and Selby Lane which is both elementary and middle. There are High schools within Atherton, including Menlo-Atherton.

There are also 2 private schools, these are St. Joseph’s which is both an elementary and middle school, Sacred Heart Preparatory which is a high school and Menlo School which is a middle and high school. There is also Menlo College which is a private four year college.

How our Cash Rebate works: When you buy a home there are typically two Real Estate Agents involved with the property transaction. The Listing Agent is representing the Seller and has a responsibility to get the home sold for the 'Best and Highest Price'. Bay Broker is the Buyer's Agent and our job is to negotiate the lowest price for our Clients AND Rebate them 30% of our commission. The Seller typically offers to pay each of these Agents a commission of 2.5% of the sales price. You will benefit from top service with no sales pressure and save money in your closing costs when you buy your next home with Bay Broker.

 * We require a minimum of $12,000 per transaction with the balance rebated to our Buyers, up to 30% of our commission. There is no Buyer Rebate on homes under $500,000. This Buyer Incentive Agreement is based on a 30% REBATE of Bay Broker's commission. We usually receive 2.5% of the sales price. Buyer(s) MUST be pre-approved by a lender and provide Bay Broker with a pre-approval letter prior to viewing homes. Buyer to notify lender about broker rebate at loan application. All parties involved in the transaction must be informed of the Buyer Rebate (incentive) to be credited through escrow. If your Lender does not allow this credit in Escrow, Bay Broker will send you the 30% REBATE 10 days after closing escrow.
 
Atherton is an incorporated town within San Mateo County and is part of the San Francisco – Oakland metropolitan area.  The city is named after Faxon Dean Atherton a landowner of one of the first properties in the south peninsula.  Atherton is ideally located so residents can enjoy exquisite scenery as well as secluded rural and wooded areas.  Within Atherton there is a real sense of community and approx. 7,500 people make their homes here with its safe streets, idyllic surroundings and real estate.

Condominiums and Townhomes can sometimes be found at around $600,000 up to approximately $800,000.

Single family three and four bedroom detached homes range broadly in price starting around $1,000,000 and increasing to approximately $3,500,000.
